Podcast #275 – How to Mitigate Risk in Your Life and Career
In this week’s episode, I am talking about how to mitigate risks. I will give you 4 methods to use when you want to mitigate a risk that you are planning to take. This is a follow-on to episode 273 where I discussed real and perceived risk. If you have not listened to that episode, I would encourage you to go back and listen to that episode first.
Way back in late 2019, before the beginning of the pandemic, the “What’s Next Mastermind” group within the Career Pivot Community, held three sessions about risk. The last one was about how we mitigate risks. From that discussion, I wrote a blog post called, How to Mitigate Risk in the 2nd Half of Life. You will find a link to this in the show notes.
In this episode, I want to take you through the four strategies that we discussed in that session on how you can approach mitigating risk. These are tried and true methods (but something we rarely think about) on how we can mitigate the risks of our actions.
The four strategies are:
- Reduction or Control
You can read more about these strategies in the article 4 Effective Risk Mitigation Strategies.
Think about how you have used some of these methods in your life or career to mitigate risks.
