Jack and his wife were walking their dogs and Jack came up with the concept of WeCruitr. The website is about bringing people together to find jobs during this very tough time.

What Does WeCruitr Offer?

Jack discusses the features of the website:

  • You can see where other members are working for job leads.
  • WeCruitr has about 10,000 recruiters registered on the website.
  • Job Board
  • Forums
  • WeMeetup Zoom Calls

Jack explains that the vast majority of recruiters are contingency-based. They eat what they kill. They get paid when a candidate is placed. There is a race between recruiters to get people placed. The recruiters work on behalf of the client who is hiring and if you do not match the requirements of the position the recruiters are working on, they do not have the time to help you. They have to find people quickly and efficiently. If you have the right background and right experience at the right time then the recruiters will show interest.

Trends

Jack is a senior contributor for Forbes.

Tech space is doing amazing. If you are in the online/digital space then things look great.

Other industries like hospitality are being crushed. It is a very bifurcated market.

Switching industries is hard and in these difficult times companies are being very patient.

Marc suggests you listen to Daniel Elizalde’s story in the podcast episode – How to Pivot Industries Using a Blog and a Podcast [Podcast].

Jack tells the story about business that is booming at an Indian casino in Oklahoma. He also was speaking with a talent acquisition person in the logistics/supply chain industry and they were hiring in all facets of the supply chain. It is also all of the companies that support this industry. Cybersecurity space is very busy as are government contract firms.

How to Approach a Recruiter?

The first step is to find a recruiter who is an expert in your area of expertise. Jack gives a variety of ways to find these recruiters.

Jack suggests to reach out via email or phone call. Jack likes using the phone to reach out to recruiters. It is always best to have a referral.  You can find telephone numbers of recruiters in the WeCruitr recruiter directory.

You can call Jack at (212) 997-3166. Connect with him on LinkedIn.
