Jack explains that the vast majority of recruiters are contingency-based. They eat what they kill. They get paid when a candidate is placed. There is a race between recruiters to get people placed. The recruiters work on behalf of the client who is hiring and if you do not match the requirements of the position the recruiters are working on, they do not have the time to help you. They have to find people quickly and efficiently. If you have the right background and right experience at the right time then the recruiters will show interest.

Tech space is doing amazing. If you are in the online/digital space then things look great.

Other industries like hospitality are being crushed. It is a very bifurcated market.

Switching industries is hard and in these difficult times companies are being very patient.

Jack tells the story about business that is booming at an Indian casino in Oklahoma. He also was speaking with a talent acquisition person in the logistics/supply chain industry and they were hiring in all facets of the supply chain.
