Career Pivot site and blog is now available

A little over a year after I quit my full time job to start my business, I am proud to announce the availability of the Career Pivot Brand.

You may be wondering why I decided to re-brand the business?

I looked at 2011 as a year of market research.

• I became certified in the Birkman assessment and provided approximately 50 assessments with feedback sessions.
• I hired an intern to do research on the plight of baby boomers.  Out of that research came the Baby Boomer Fact Sheet and the first Infographic on retirement issues of baby boomers. As you probably figured out the picture is not pretty.
• I have made multiple career changes in my life, seven to be exact, and I chronicled my change from being a high tech training manager to a high school math teacher at an inner city high school in Austin, Texas.

It has become readily apparent to me that work life in America has changed forever.  Job categories will come and go.  We must be nimble and be able to continually pivot our careers. The concept of pivot as it relates to our careers seems to resonates with everyone I talk with.

I will be releasing my first publication “Don’t Retire Even If you Can – A Baby Boomer Manifesto” in my next blog post.

I will also be blogging in the coming weeks on my next initiative – The Cure for Career Insanity.
