#1 setting on LinkedIn to keep your current employer from knowing you are looking for a job

You have a job but you want to move on.  You want to network and ask for advice but how do you keep your current employer in the dark?

There are several telltale signs on LinkedIn that tells someone you are moving on.

• You start following a lot of companies like my buddy Maria below.  Maria is currently out of work so this is okay but if she was still employed I would get suspicious if she worked for me.  By the way, Maria would make a great addition to any sales team that deals with the Latin American markets.

• When there are multiple updates to your skills on your LinkedIn profile. This is another telltale sign. Not just one update but many.

• Another sign is if you suddenly get a flurry of recommendations.
